## Do I need an account to send?

Yes. You can upload documents, add a recipient, and prepare a cover page before signup. Create an account or sign in to continue with your draft. You’ll review it before sending; signing up does not send it.

## Where can I send a free fax?

Free supports the same 27 sending countries as our paid plans, including the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan. Each page counts as one page. The pricing page lists every supported country.

## Which files can I upload?

Upload PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, BMP, or WebP files, up to 20 MB each. Check the page previews and total before sending. You can also use Scan from phone to add a document photo.

## How do the free pages count?

The allowance is 10 outgoing pages per workspace each month, not 10 faxes. Cover pages count. Unused pages don’t roll over. When you reach the allowance, wait for it to renew or choose a paid plan for more pages.

## What happens to my documents before signup?

Your draft is stored privately on DearFax’s servers, with access tied to an essential cookie in your browser. An unclaimed draft expires 24 hours after its last edit or upload reservation and is removed by daily cleanup. Read our Privacy Policy for details.

## How do I know my fax arrived?

After sending, check Sent in your workspace for the delivery status. Delivered means the fax provider confirmed delivery. It does not confirm that a person has read your document.
